Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the pieces made?

Each piece is entirely handcrafted in my studio. I use the mixed clay technique — a demanding artisanal skill that requires patience and precision during the cutting and polishing stages.

Why does my piece look different from the photo?

This is the magic of Paesina. The mixed clay pattern relies on an element of chance: each marbling is unique and unrepeatable. While the colour palette and form remain consistent, the "landscape" that emerges on your piece is entirely your own.

Will the pattern fade over time?

No. Unlike a surface-painted decoration, the mixed clay pattern runs through the very mass of the object. It is therefore permanent and will retain its beauty for years to come.

Are the pieces dishwasher safe?

Yes, my pieces are designed to be part of your everyday life and are dishwasher safe. However, as with any handcrafted earthenware, hand washing remains the gentlest way to preserve their brilliance over the long term.

Can I use my plates in the oven or microwave?

The use of ovens and microwaves is not recommended for earthenware, as this clay is more porous than stoneware or porcelain. Repeated thermal shocks could weaken the piece or cause crazing in the glaze.

Are the pieces food safe?

Absolutely. The pieces are perfectly suited for food use. The glaze used is guaranteed free from lead, cadmium, aluminium, cobalt, and arsenic. It complies with Directive 84/500/EEC and DGCCRF MCDA sheet no. 2 (V01-01/05/2016). Testing has been carried out in a laboratory by the Société Française de Céramique.

What are the shipping times?

For pieces in stock, orders are generally dispatched within 3 to 5 business days. For pre-orders or bespoke pieces, the lead time may vary between 6 and 8 weeks (the time required for drying and two firings).

My parcel arrived damaged — what should I do?

Despite the care taken in packaging (bubble wrap, double-walled cardboard), accidents can happen. If your piece arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with a photo of the item and the packaging, and I will arrange a replacement or refund.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Every order is carefully packaged. If you would like to include a personalised message for a gift, you can specify this at checkout.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

As each piece is made to order, modifications or cancellations are not generally possible. However, if you wish to make a change or notice an error, please contact me as soon as possible. If production has not yet begun, we will do our best to find a solution together.

Do you ship internationally?

International shipping is not yet available through the online store. However, I invite you to contact me by email at paesina.ceramics@gmail.com to explore shipping options outside of France.

How do I place a bespoke order?

For any personalised project, please contact me by email at paesina.ceramics@gmail.com. We can then arrange a call to discuss your ideas and the details of your project.

Do you work with professionals?

Yes, I work with professionals on bespoke projects or selections from existing pieces. As with private clients, please contact me by email at paesina.ceramics@gmail.com to discuss your needs.

Where can I see the pieces in person?

If you live in or are visiting the Gard region, you are welcome to contact me to discover the pieces directly at the studio. You can also find the Garance collection plates at the Villa Paloma boutique (Nouveau Musée National de Monaco).
